The sweeping cloud strata in this image reminded me of wood grain, and all it took to push the natural color of cherry wood to a warmer place was some cherry-amber stain. Cutting a taper on the moulding gave new facets for the light to reveal, and a nice, generous solid core double mat gives the breathing room the print needs before the organic pattern of stacked shapes is continued in the hardwood’s grain.
