This modern print on canvas was framed in a 3/4″ basswood box frame (violet stain) with hand painted inner and outer faces and a 1″ tapered liner, hand wrapped in white rayon acetate fabric.

The front face is a concentrated violet stain, still transparent enough to see the wood grain, but the inside and outside faces are painted with opaque color. White rayon acetate is what the infamous billowing dress from Seven Year Itch was made of, so I ordered a yard of it and wrapped the inner liner. The nearly invisible glass is captured between the liner and the frame, creating the safe airspace we want between the art and the glass.
