This is a 1909 antique book plate, 4″ X 5 1/4″, from an engraving by William Henry Wesley of the Royal Astronomical Society called “Total Eclipse of the Sun, 17th May, 1882” (Plate VII from History of Astronomy by George Forbes).
This frame is a 1″ basswood cushion profile (ebony stain and wax) with a bottom weighted Antique White rag mat with thin black ruled line drawn around the opening.
